Postpartum Care $100 for 4 hours

In many cultures anciently, women, after giving birth, were surrounded by the women in their life and cared for for a 30 to 40 day confinement period. During this time the new mother was mostly to rest, recuperate, and care for her newborn. She might be wrapped in a belly bind for the entirety of the time, told what she could or could not eat, and not be allowed to shower or wash her hair. Her family and friends would prepare her meals, keep her house, and care for other children, and the affairs of the house. Only after this period would the new mother and baby emerge to greet the world. Many Chinese and Hispanic women claim their adherence to these practices is the reason for their youthful health later in life.

This sounds heavenly, but impractical in our society. As a doula I suggest getting the support and help you need. Many women have friends and family they  feel comfortable calling on for this help. Others do not have this luxury. I will support you in this time of need, so you can rest and recuperate from your work of growing, birthing, and caring for your a baby,.
